WWE Plans Post-WrestleMania 42 Meeting Following Disappointing Ticket Sales

2 Min Read

Earlier this week, uncertainty arose regarding the plans for WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas as WWE expressed dissatisfaction with the current ticket sales for the two-night event. According to Wrestletics, about 36,000 tickets have been sold for each night so far, which likely falls short of the 56,000 to 60,000 tickets sold for each night of WrestleMania 41, also held in Las Vegas. In response, WWE initiated a new strategy on Wednesday aimed at boosting ticket sales as the event date approaches.

Sources from WrestleBoats Radio on Fightful Select revealed that WWE conducted an internal meeting involving multiple divisions to address the ticket sales challenges. Each division was tasked with creating promotions and tactics to build momentum and attract more fans, with just over two months remaining until the event. Despite these efforts, WWE currently has no plans to reduce ticket prices, with the lowest-priced tickets starting at $266.80. For context, by February last year, WWE had sold an additional 10,000 tickets per night for WrestleMania 41.

Additionally, last week Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp reported that WWE prohibited viewing parties at venues within an 80-mile radius of Allegiant Stadium. This move sparked backlash from local businesses, especially since the city of Las Vegas invested in bringing WrestleMania to help boost tourism during April. As of now, the only confirmed match for WrestleMania 42 is the World Heavyweight Championship bout between reigning Royal Rumble 2026 winner Roman Reigns and CM Punk.

Fan Take: This ticket sales concern highlights the challenges WWE faces in maintaining WrestleMania’s marquee status amid rising costs and shifting fan interest. How WWE responds could shape not only the success of this year’s event but also the future engagement of wrestling fans worldwide.
