The show opens with a video package looking back at what happened at the start of last week’s SmackDown. This is the Gunther vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Sami Zayn segment.
And Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett welcome us to the show.
Cody Rhodes was then seen in the parking lot and SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis walked up to him. Rose asks Aldis if he heard anything from Gunther. Ardis says he hasn’t heard anything from Gunther yet. Then Rose says she’ll find out tonight. Rose then encounters The Usos. Jey Uso said he intends to follow in the footsteps of Rose, who won the Undisputed WWE Championship at the King of the Ring tournament. Rose then says she hopes Jey Uso is right. Rose then says he hopes it’s Jey’s decision and not Roman Reigns’ decision.
LA Knight, Royce Keyes, and Finn Balor then arrive before the show, and Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett are seen talking about Rhea Ripley’s knee injury. Barrett later confirmed that Rhea Ripley would be sidelined due to a knee injury sustained in the crash in Italy.
We then recap what happened in the SmackDown women’s tag team match and head to the back with Kathy Kelly. She is with Jade Cargill, B-Fab, and Mi Chin. Cargill says she has built a career out of pressure. Cargill then says that if you can win once, you can win twice. Michin then says that last week they proved who the real queen is. Then B-Fab came in and Tiffany Stratton says she experienced what happens when you tinker with the future. Cargill then told Rhea Ripley to rest because they would meet at SummerSlam.
Charlotte Flair then makes her way down to the ring for the first match of the night, followed by Sol Luka. Lyra Valkyrie comes down to the ring next, followed by Jade Cargill along with Michin and B-Fab.
Queen of the Ring Tournament 1st Round, Fatal 4-Way Match: “The Queen” Charlotte Flair vs. Jade Cargill vs. Lyla Valkyria vs. WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Sol Luka
The match starts with Jade Cargill hitting Charlotte Flair with a right hand. After that, Lyra Valkyria jumps on Sol Luka. Flair also superkicks Cargill. Cargill then hits a double suplex on Luka and Flair. Cargill then hits a Fallaway Ram on Valkyria. Flair then hits a flurry of Flair chops and follows up with a German suplex. B-Fab and Michin then defeated Flair on the outside. Then Alexa Bliss returns and the odds even out. Tiffany Stratton then comes down to the ring and levels the playing field. Flair then goes to the top rope and hits Cargill with a crossbody for a near fall, but Valkyria stops him from falling.
Luka and Cargill then go back and forth. Luka then hits an uppercut and follows up with a series of chops. Luka then hits a springboard crossbody on Cargill. Valkyria then hits a dropkick. Valkyria then hits Flair with a series of clotheslines. Valkyrie then hits a fisherman’s suplex on Luka. Cargill then enters the fray, but Valkyria hits him with a DDT. Furthermore, Flair hits Valkyria with a natural selection, and Luka breaks the fall. Luka then runs into a big boot. flare. He then goes to the top rope, but Valkyria pushes Luka into the corner and trips Flair. Cargill then enters the fray and sends all three women to the mat.
Flair now favors her right hand. Flair then trades strikes with Cargill and follows up with her signature walkover clothesline. Luka then hits a missile dropkick on Flair. Valkyria then pushes Luka off the apron. She then slipped through the ropes and defeated Cargill. Luka then hits a moonsault and wipes everyone out. After that, Luka hits Valkyria with a springboard splash, almost forcing her to fall. Flair is back in the ring. Valkyria then stretches Luka, but receives a strong kick. Cargill also hits Luka with an uppercut. Cargill then drives a shoulder into Flair’s midsection. Cargill then hits Valkyria with several forearms in the corner. Cargill then hits Valkyria with a kick to the back. Cargill then drives a shoulder into Flair’s midsection. Cargill then collides with Flair in the corner.
Luka then hits a side elbow on Cargill. Cargill then fights back and hits Luka with a spinebuster for a near fall. Cargill then goes to the top rope, but Flair cuts him off with a forearm. Flair and Cargill are currently fighting on the top rope. Luka then joins Flair and hits a double superplex on Cargill.
