The show opens with a meet and greet from Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett, and sees Cody Rhodes, Gunther, Sami Zayn, Liv Morgan, Jevon Evans, Jey Uso, Alexa Bliss, and Charlotte Flair arrive before the show.
Next, take a look at the Undisputed WWE Championship photos in the video package. This will be the night’s opener and will be played without commercials.
Sami Zayn was loudly booed when he stepped into the ring for the first match of the night. Gunther goes down to the ring next, followed by Cody Rhodes.
The Undisputed WWE Championship Match (Special Guest Referee: Sami Zayn): “American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes (c) vs. “The Ring General” Gunther
The match begins with both men locked up, with Gunther dropping Cody Rhodes and going for the left arm. Rose then fights back with right hands, but GUNTHER nails Rose with a series of chops. Rose then fights back again, but Sami Zayn tries to hold him down, allowing Gunther to hit a big boot. Gunter then lands a side press for a near fall. Gunther then drives an elbow into the center of Rose’s forehead. Rose then hits a Cody Cutter on GUNTHER. Rose follows up with a powerslam. Furthermore, Gunther cuts down Rose from behind. He then applies the Figure-4 in the center of the ring. Rose then goes for a quick rollup but gets hit by a boot. Gunter then follows up with a lariat for a nearfall.
Gunther goes for a powerbomb, but Rose counters with a crossroads. Rose then gets into an argument with Zayn. Gunther then tries a sleeper hold from behind, and Rose breaks the hold at the ropes. Gunther then shoves Zayn and hits a powerbomb. Rose then hits Gunther with a super cutter, and Gunther follows up with Crossroads. A new referee then comes down to the ring, but misses the three count. Both men are currently engaged in a deadly battle on the top rope. Gunther then hits a missile dropkick and follows up with a powerbomb. Zayn then dragged out the new referee to stop the fall. Back in the ring, Zayn hits a helluva kick on Gunther and a quick roll-up gives Rose the victory.
The winner and still the undisputed WWE Champion, “American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes!
After the match, we see Nick Aldis confronting Sami Zayn on his way to the back. Ardis is furious at Zayn’s hosting. Gunther then angrily leaves.
Gunther is then seen backstage arguing with Nick Aldis. Cody Rhodes then returned to the ring and asked for the match to be restarted. Gunther then wastes Zane. The Undisputed WWE Championship match between Cody Rhodes and Gunther has resumed with a new referee.

The match begins with both men locking up in the center of the ring and exchanging blows. Furthermore, Gunther sets up a sleeper hold. Rose then tries to break out of it, but he slips out and applies a sleeper hold on Gunther. Sami Zayn then returns to the ring and hits a helluva kick on Gunther. Zayn then knocks out the referee. He then hit Rose in the head with the Undisputed WWE Championship, causing the referee to call for the bell.
“The Ring General” Gunther wins the Undisputed WWE Championship by disqualification! Still, the undisputed WWE Champion, “American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes!
After the match, Sami Zayn threw away his belt and uttered words that the network did not approve of. Cody Rhodes then sits in the ring not knowing what is going on.
Next, let’s look back at what happened to Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill.
We then see Kathy Kelly asking Jade Cargill where her focus is. Jade asks if there is a problem. Then Jade says she will do what she wants. Jade then says that they are running the department. Jade then says she’s going to make a pit stop at Tiffany Stratton. B-Fab then asks why Tiffany joined Queen of the Ring when she wasn’t. Mi Chin then says that Charlotte Flair has replaced Jade. Jade then challenges Tiffany for the U.S. Women’s Championship at Night of Champions.
Gunther is then seen walking up to Nick Aldis and Gunther says he failed twice. Gunther then says that he doesn’t think Nick Aldis is the right person for his job. Gunther then says he wants a rematch at Night of Champions.
Next, let’s take a look at last week’s King of the Ring tournament.
Then I head backstage with Solo Chicore and Jacob Fatu is there. Sicoar says the answer is still no. Fatu then says he’s here to make sure no one gets caught up in Jey Uso’s King of the Ring semifinals. Fatu then says that he thinks Sikoa is making the wrong decision. Fatu said OTC doesn’t intend to wait that long. Fatu then says that Shikoa is running out of time to make the right choice. Tama Tonga then walks up to Sikoa and asks about Fatu. Chicoa then explains everything. He then says he wants a tag team championship match. Tonga then tells Sikoa to stop as the family business is starting to be ruined. Tama Tonga then says that she doesn’t know who Sikoa is for. Tara Tonga then says all they care about is the tag titles.
Damian Priest and R-Truth then make their way down to the ring for the next match of the night, followed by Tama Tonga and Tara Tonga.
WWE Tag Team Championship Match: Damian Priest & R-Truth (C) vs. MFT (Tama Tonga & Tara Tonga)
The match started with Damian Priest and Tara Tonga, both locked up. Priest then hits a series of right hands. Priest then hits Tara with a few forearms. Tara then shoulder tackles Priest. Tara then corners Tama Tonga and tags Tama Tonga. Priest then hits a flying elbow. Priest then landed a few right hands to the balls in the corner. Then R-Truth appears. R-Truth then hits a splash on Tama. R-Truth then hits a series of shoulder tackles and follows up with a five-knuckle shuffle. R-Truth then takes aim at AA, but Tara distracts him, allowing Tama to send R-Truth out of play. R-Truth then encounters the Big Boot. Priest then jumps off the steel steps but Tara puts him on the apron.
Tama then brings R-Truth back into the ring and pounds away at him. Tara then gets the tag. Tara then continues the beatdown on R-Truth. Tama then applies a half Boston crab on R-Truth, targeting his lower back.
