Melina was one of the mainstays in the WWE women’s division in the early to late 2000s, and it took quite a while for fans to see her inside the WWE ring. With rumours about the second Evolution Premium Live event this year, Melina is currently working on returning to the event.
While speaking to Ten Count Wrestling, Melina tackled rumors about the possibility that WWE will bring back the Evolution Premium Live event this year, as well as her potential return.
Melina wants to be part of the show, but doesn’t feel she needs to be included in order to be satisfied with her return. For her, the most important thing is that evolution happens because she believes that women deserve it and believe it should be an annual event.
“Oh, my goodness, what do you know, if I’m happy with evolution. I don’t need to be there. I don’t need to be there.
I’m just happy because it’s a show, it’s a pay-per-view that needs to happen. Women deserve it. They deserve it. That should happen every year. So I’m very excited. It must be true, make it true. ”
Melina mentioned several opponents she would like to face, including Asuka and Naomi, but admitted that she prefers to team up with Naomi rather than wrestling with her for intimate friendships.
“And if I’m going to play a match… I don’t know, I don’t know, there are so many good people. You know, I keep saying Asuka and me, and I say Trinity – I want to tag her because I love playing against her. I love her so much.”
Melina also praised the current women’s division, especially at NXT, calling it the “candy store kids” situation for her exciting new talent. When asked about the potential return in Battle Royale, she agreed it was fun.
Melina said there are a lot of wrestlers who want to step into the ring, especially at events like Evolution, which brings together stars of the past, present and future.
But now there are a lot of new talent. Similarly, NXT introduces so many fresh faces. It’s like a kid from a candy store. So Battle Royale and I win, right?
I was going to say, there are a lot of people I want to wrestle. I think everyone wants to meet me. It especially falls into evolution. Because that’s when you bring everyone together from the past, present and future. ”
Melina’s love for female wrestling is easily seen in everything she says. Whether she is working on the evolution of 2025 or simply supporting from the bystanders, it is clear that she cares deeply about the sport and the women in it. As WWE brings about evolution, we need to see what role Melina plays in the event.
