The 2025 Women’s Owen Heart Foundation Tournament is the final following the event in the April 23rd episode of “AEW Dynamite.” Kris Statlander and Jamie Hayter will meet each other in the semi-finals to see who will face Mercedes Mone on Double or Nothing on May 25th.
The match began with a test of classic strength between the two women, and Heiter ultimately gained early control with a German suppression and a dropkick. Statlander quickly gained a calmness, taking action to the apron where he defeated Hayter with a leg sweep, but missed the follow-up to keep Hayter out of the way of Statlander’s standing Moonsaw.
During the commercial break, Heiter took full control of the match after Statlander hit a snap suppression after returning to the ring. She tried to land several strikes, but Hater slams her elbow with the corner to stop the momentum. Statlander glowed faintly of hope and nearly fell from her own suppression, but Hayter quickly returned with another Snap Suplex. Hater took the time to sing “Happy Birthday” as the show was on an actual birthday, but too many showboats from Britt ended up hitting the elbow in the back for a double down from the second rope.
Out of the commercial break, Statlander began collecting comebacks on strike. He then hit the German suppression with two counts. She kept control on the dragon’s sleeper, but Hyter unfolded and locked her in her own hold. However, Statlander used her strength to step in. Everything was on her shoulder, bumping into a breaker in her face, then slamming a pair of knees backwards for yet another fall. Both women were trying to wind the other up before landing a big move on each other. Jamie went to High Terrade, but Statlander slams her into hitting a big 450 splash from the top for two counts.
The end of the match came when Statlander went to the well too often, when Heiter returned to her feet before he hit the second 450 splash. As Statlander stepped in, Hayter slammed another Hayterade for victory. That means she will advance to the finals with Double or Nothing. After the match, Mercedes Mohn came out to celebrate her victory, and the two stared at the show as it aired.
