AEW Dynamite-4/23/2025: 3 Things We Loved and Hate

If you’d like to see what’s next for Aew Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm along with this week’s episode of “Aew Dynamite,” you’d have seen her in a brief behind-the-scenes interview with Lenny Puckett, who promoted her upcoming appearance at the TCM Film Festival. An episode of “AEW Collision” by Eliminator Match. The challenge was answered by Queen Aminata.

Storm vs Aminata? I think most people are down for that, but the champion really feels hampered by the fact that her actual plans are double or nothing. For now, Storm feels like she’s spinning her wheels waiting for the Owen Hart Cup to finish, allowing her to actually create a unique story with someone not called Mariah May. Speaking of which, you can argue that Storm has not actually crushed the Earth since rebutting in May. The short program with Megan Bain was fun, benefiting from hindsight, but now it feels like it’s coming too early.

Out of the revolution, Storm was positioned as a true main event player who could turn his eyes to AEW. Obviously, she can’t make the show the main event every week, but already in the weeks since she felt like one of the biggest stars in the whole business, Storm was waiting for her to get something that could really sink her teeth. She makes the most of the minutes she was given. She is undoubtedly better than anyone at AEW at making the most of her time on TV, but she congratulates Owen Heart Cup participants and says, “Ms. Storm, can you move to the next scene?”

I won’t do what I did with Megan Beine, but is there an Aminata there instead? A short program to bring her to the card and make her a valuable challenger for those who leave to Texas with the title. It would have been far better than giving her a throw away match in an episode of “Aew Collision.” Certainly, people saw Mariah May’s feud with Anna Jay late last year, and Storm is the lead actress sitting in her trailer, waiting for everyone else to film the scene, so she can go back to the show.

We still have a month to go before there’s no double or anything, and there doesn’t seem to be any signs of a storm actually wrestling with that card. This is a very bad move. Give your biggest female star something to do, even if it’s a short one.
