Behind the scenes report on Stokely Hathaway’s AEW returns

On this week’s episode of “Aew Dynamite,” Stokely Hathaway returned to TV almost six months later. Hathaway manages the duo in a way back to the title scene, along with Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler in the FTR after the heel turn. The two then attacked the legendary Rock and Roll Express after humiliating the veteran after cutting the promotion alongside Hathaway.

Following the segment, “Fightful Select” considered Hathaway’s status, and the report also revealed behind the scenes information about the angle. According to the report, the pairing between the three was pitched a year ago, with the trigger pulling backwards when Hathaway often saw the scouting tag team behind the scenes, especially while watching FTR matches. Interestingly, the report further claimed that after the outtrunner exploded, the story was pushed back a bit, shifting the creative and instead using FTR to help True Magnum and Turbo Floyd collapse with the fans.

The two burned the heeled bridge with Adam Copeland, especially while the FTR was preparing for a clash with Paragon (Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong). Interestingly, given that Paragon has one member than FTR – he doesn’t count Hathaway, who is likely not comparable to his wrestling abilities as they are left, but the tag team can have another member flesh out the feud and get them to join quickly enough to rival the odds.
