Buddy Matthews manages Realipley’s relationship despite schedule

Buddy Matthews feels fortunate to have Realiply as his wife.

Managing relationships within the wrestling community has always been a difficult task for talent. Although the schedules these days are much more relaxed than they were back then, things still become tricky when they are signed to various companies with opposite schedules.

The relationship between Matthews and Ripley is a prime example. Wrestling stars signed by AEW and WWE respectively have different work schedules, which means they have limited free time they have with each other. In a recent interview with Chris Van Vriette, Buddy revealed about managing their relationship.

“Sometimes, it’s a bit of a pain in the butt. But we’re just a bit of that lock. She definitely depends on Monday, whether she’s at a live event or not.

After breaking up with Alexablis in 2018, Buddy Matthews, known in WWE as Buddy Murphy, began his relationship with Realiply. The former cruiserweight champion was unfortunately released from the company as part of the 2021 budget cuts. He joined AEW in 2022. Despite the opposite schedule, the two stars continued their relationship and got married in June 2024.

Speaking about how they make things work, the Aee star explained that he is really married to his best friend. According to him, he is very pleased with Rare and there is no need for other people to feel the content.

“I’ll talk a bit emotional about it. I’ve married my best friend. I don’t want to spend any more time. I only need her. That’s it. I don’t need a large group of friends. No approval is required.

Pizza, wife, horror movies. We are fine. I’m on Cloud Nine. And in general, I fall asleep, but that’s because I’m comfortable. If a man falls asleep, that’s good for a man. Yeah, but she is my best friend and now I am very fortunate. ”

Later in the interview, Buddy Matthews also spoke about going to honeymoon with Ripley just after suffering a leg injury at Grand Slam Australia’s Okada Kazuchika.
