AEW Star’s partner Matthews has provided the latest updates on the recovery and return plans for his last competing injury at Grand Slam Australia.

On February 15th, AEW’s pay-per-view found Buddy Matthews suffered an ankle injury and needed walking boots.

When appearing in Insights with Chris Van Vriette, Matthews revealed the extent of his ankle injuries, revealing that he has partial ligament lacerations and cartilage damage.

“I rolled it pretty badly. I had an x-ray. MRI. There were no breaks, but there were partial ligament lacerations and cartilage damage.

“(I’m) walking. I’m not running. I’m not jumping. I started implementing cardio, but then it got stiff. And we’re working through it, but the documentation said I’ve never seen ankle roll under someone without completely destroying it, breaking it, collapsed, or collapsing the bones.

“So I didn’t break the bones, but it was incredible, but then I had to wrestletter 15 minutes later.”

Buddy Matthews went on his honeymoon after suffering injuries without requiring surgery with ankles, sports crutches, braces and tape during that period.

The AEW star also revealed that he plans to go back into the ring and settle the next thing.

“I’d like to go faster than later. You obviously need to put it in the ring and miss it and go back to the ring shape.

During the interview, Buddy Matthews also weighed and considered potential return to WWE. This makes him work for the same company as Rhea Ripley.

Matthews, now a member of the Hell Hound, was previously a member of the Black House until Malakai Black left.

Black then returned to WWE to revive his Aleister name with a remixed version of his theme song.
