“Big mistakes on many levels”

Jeff Jarrett didn’t enjoy working with MJF at AEW. Jarrett looked back on his return to last week’s AEW clash in his latest episode of his My World Podcast, and got the opportunity to deal with his brief feud with MJF earlier this year.

Double J describes this experience in dull terms and is called harmful, both creatively and professionally.

“since then [MJF] I was involved in something that relate to myself, that changed into absolute shit,” Jarrett said.

He warned MJF about avoiding low-level material and expressed his dissatisfaction that the direction of their programme was not in line with his vision and values.

Jarrett also suggested that MJF resent his desire for AEW Gold, implying that interactions with former world champions tend to have a negative impact on other talents.

“He’s always leaving everyone worse than he was when he started to be associated at any level,” Jarrett added.

While acknowledging MJF’s talent, he labeled him “toxic” and “selfish” and admitted that the experience hurt his own momentum with AEW. Jarrett saw his tenure at AEW more broadly, admitting to hearing the wrong people and losing his creative focus.

“We’ve lost our way as a group in many ways, and I’m a veteran. I should be more responsible for that.”

As he considers the next stage of his run and the potential final contract, Jarrett reveals that some internal issues remain private. However, he firmly concluded that his storyline with MJF was a mistake.

“The situation at MJF was a huge, massive, big mistake on so many levels. Needless to say, we’ll see.”
