Jeff Cobb adds even more mystery to his next move in the world of wrestling by claiming he has retired. After playing in what was billed as the NJPW final match on April 18th, Cobb took him to social media to claim his days in the ring were over.
Many fans are skeptical of this “retirement,” and it’s not difficult to see why. Rumors have been swirling around the WWE in recent weeks, and with Cobb’s NJPW contract behind him, many believe it’s only a matter of time before “retired” Cobb returns to the ring, this time as a WWE superstar.
On April 18th, Cobb posted, “And then, now, forever?”
This post featured a photo of Cobb from the NJPW Ring, but many thought his future was a sign that it was in the sports entertainment juggernaut. Dave Meltzer recently reported that WWE wanted Cobb on “Sunday or Monday” WrestleMania 41However, the movement did not come to fruition.
