The previous WWE name was hired by all elite wrestling after it was recently announced that it had left the previous promotion.
Many TNA wrestling departures were confirmed in February. This included former WWE announcer Josh Matthews, who worked for TNA 11 years before his departure.
Following his departure, Matthews was reported behind the scenes at two AEW events, first being a dynamite episode in March and later became the AEW dynasty pay-per-view event on April 6th.
With updates on his status from Pwinsider Elite (subscription required), Mathews currently works at AEW.
Mathews has recently worked in production trucks, helping to promote between the production team and the company’s coaches and producers.
Matthews’ wife Madison Lane has worked for AEW since 2022 as an active on-screen wrestler and as a coach.
Mathews has worked as an on-screen interview and announcer for much of his career before taking on the office role at TNA before leaving in February.
