In 2022, the original Damage CTRL brought Bailey, Dakotaka Kai and Iyo Sky together, each suffering from some kind of career setback or uncertainty. With the formation of stablehouse, Kai returned to the company and saw his Sky debut on the main roster, but Bailey returned from injuries he had injured his knee in 2021.

“It was a bigger injury than everyone knows,” Bailey revealed. “There are people who know that, and obviously people who know the office and things, but that’s why. It’s not just an ACL, it’s a bigger injury, and that’s why I keep me out for longer.” Bailey admits that the injury has bothered her to this day, preventing her from curling her legs and being able to run for long periods of time, but she always knew she was coming back.

Damage CTRL was her pitch to fit into the WWE landscape immediately on her return. Bailey told Van Vriette that she imagined a group of five women who would protect her when she returned from injuries, just to betray them in the end. She also has several women in mind in the group, including current AEW women’s world champion Toni Storm, but the material for her, Kai and Skyshot was eventually three with Raquel Rodriquez and Alba Fire, but her vision for the ruler of the female world champion turned out to be prophecy.

“In my heart [there were] The two tag teams said, “Bailey mentioned the five-female version of the group and “Then it was my champion,” Bailey said.
