“Dark Side of the Ring” features the first prison interview since Billy Jack Haynes’s second-degree murder charge (video)

Dark side of a vice TV ring Next, we focus on Billy Jack Haynes. The episode, premiering May 6th, traces the mystery that led to his violent life and the behind the bar.

Haynes was charged with second-degree murder of his wife, Janet Becraft on February 28, 2024. The 85-year-old was found dead at a home in Portland, Oregon. Medical inspectors determined that Becraft died of a gunshot wound and murder. She reportedly suffered from dementia at the time.

In addition to examining the case, this time also provides the first interview from the prison of a wrestling star from the 1980s. Before the episode, Sescoops received the exclusive clip above. He explains the accusations against him, vehemently denies that he killed his wife, and revisits his troubled past with WWE drugs.

Haynes revealed he had been in jail for six months. “What I’m talking to you today is one small proportion of my life, and the whole part of my life remains here,” he said. Haynes’ lawyers exist during filming. Haynes added that he only loved two people. It was his father, trapped in a wheelchair and his late wife. “I loved her more than life,” he said.

During his heyday at age 71, Haynes was one of the true great powers of the ring. His most notable rivals during his tenure at WWE were Randy Savage and Hercules Hernandez. The latter led to a match at WrestleMania III. Haynes also worked on many territories, including Florida Championship Wrestling, Pacific Northwestern Stress Ring, and world-class Championship Wrestling. His last prominent stop before he retired completely was the American Wrestling Association (USWA). He also alleged that among those sued in federal court against WWE, they were unable to protect them from repeated head injuries that resulted in long-term brain damage.
