The AEW Star reflects the situation of “Nowin” at the WWE Premium Live event that he saw in his main event match with Randy Orton.

The WWE Backlash, which will be held in June 2020, was one of many premium live events held in front of “no fans” due to Covid-19 restrictions.

The event will be held at the WWE Performance Center in place of the original scheduled home in Kansas City, Missouri, with Edge vs. Randy Orton as the main event.

As the match was billed as “the best wrestling match of all time,” there was a lot of things Adam Copeland discussed in Rope interviews.

Speaking to Kenny McIntosh, Aew’s Cope is open about the “unwinning situation” of the match and is proud of what he and Orton have achieved.

“It felt like a situation where we didn’t win. I still hoped there was a backlash match before more than 20 students on PC because I’m still really proud of it.

“You said to me, ‘We’re going to build the best wrestling match we’ve ever had. There’s no audience.’ Well, that’s nothing like anything unless you’re in a real athletic contest.

“We know who the best hockey teams are. They win the Stanley Cup. They’re different for everyone, so there’s nothing like the best match.

“And it was a lot of fun. It was a big challenge, but I certainly hope there was an audience. In the crowd, they’d goat it. That would have been very good.”

Edge parted ways with WWE when his contract expired 25 years later with the company on September 30, 2023.

He made his debut as Adam Copeland on October 1, 2023 at the AWA, then switched his name to just deal with it in January.

WWE Backlash will head to the Enterprise Center in St. Louis Missouri on May 10th.

In the upcoming PLE, John Cena defends the indisputable WWE Championship with Randy Orton in the match he was billed as “last time.”

Two other championship matches were also announced, with Lila Valkyria defending the WWE Women’s Continental Championship against Becky Lynch, featuring WWE United States champions Jacob Fatt, Lanite, Dami Amplisist and Drew McIntyre in a fatal four-way match.

Pat McAfee also makes his return in the ring and faces Gunther in singles action.
