WWE’s acquisition of Mexican Rucha Libre Promotion AAA is a major move for both companies. Rey Mysterio is closely linked to AAA, and fans wondered if he would soon appear at the AAA event. Unfortunately, he appears to be set up to appear at one of their events, but those plans have been discarded due to his current injury.
According to Wrestlevotes Radio, Rey Mysterio was originally scheduled to appear at Triplemanía Regia before his injuries forced him to change plans. At this point, WWE and AAA are considering using El Grande Americano for their events instead.
Rey Mysterio recently underwent surgery to repair a torn a torn aidductor muscle.
The Triplemanía Regia event will be held on June 15th, with WWE stars such as Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo also appearing at Triplemanía. In fact, even Conan has already confirmed that El Grande Americano will play a major role in the AAA in the future.
Fans may be disappointed that Rey Mysterio hasn’t returned to the AAA ring yet, but his recovery is a top priority. His final return will still be a big moment for both WWE and AAA, so we have to wait for when he came back and what WWE had planned for him when he does.
