The legendary ECW sub reportedly has passed away.

Pwinsider broke the news early today. The site did not provide much details, but confirmed that wrestling legend, real name Terry Blank, has passed away.

Fellow legend Rob Van Damme and others have responded to his Twitter handover:

The news is very sad for fans and comes as a huge shock as the 60-year-old wrestled with his final match only last month. Sub defeated Joey Janela in WrestleMania 41 weekend in Las Vegas’ GCW Spring Break 9.

Sub appeared at the Tri-State Alliance Reunion Show Convention last weekend at the 2300 (ECW) Arena. This was his last release.

The original Shake trained Sub made his wrestling debut in 1985. Before moving to Japan, he began a career competing in promotional competition in the North American independence scene. He worked with NJPW among other promotions to win the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship during a Japanese field trip.

This was followed by him returning to us and the Starmaking ECW was run from 1995 to 2000.

Known for his trademark style of hardcore wrestling, Sub quickly became an equipment for extreme promotions, and his work at the time influenced talent and continues to shape the world of professional wrestling today. He also worked in companies such as WWE, TNA, and AEW in his later career.

Cescope represents our deepest sadness to all family and friends of the sub.
