There were only a few chances, but if anyone could realistically defeat Cena for the title, it would have been Randy Orton. They have known each other for decades, have previously shared the same ring many times, and have won each other several times. The backlash took place in Randy Orton’s hometown of St. Louis. The crowd loved Orton, and soon after the match began, they started “You can’t fight/He can.” Fans had a lot of expectations for it as this was the main event of the show.
But in typical WWE fashion, the match was filled with many shenanigans, including external interference, leaps of the referee, and unruly maneuvering to reach that finish. The first such place happened when Viper went to RKO, where Cena pushed him back. Orton was knocked out by referee Chad Patton. Cena then went out of the ring and grabbed the title belt to smack Orton, but Orton refuted and it was fall. After a few more shenanigans, the match was at its final five minutes.

Orton had removed all the noise from the ring, but now he and Cena were alone. Orton wanted a punt kick, but R-Truth appeared out of nowhere just before his leg collided with Cena’s head. Randy Orton was already furious, and the truth suffered from the rage of the apex predator, and got rko’d. Like Wrestlemania 41, this interference caused Cena to sneak up behind his opponent and hit him with a low blow. He then hit Orton with the WWE title and went to the cover. The referee reached the ring on time and Cena won the match.
This was a dramatic way to end the backlash, but the fans enjoyed it. It was a better main event than Wrestle Mania Night 2, where Travis Scott helped Cena. Why are some fans wondering about R-Truth for everyone? But that makes sense from a storyline perspective. Because the truth is that he viewed China as a childhood hero and wanted to come to his aid.
However, this may not be the only reason for this interference. Recent rumors say WWE is reportedly planning a Saturday night main event match between Truth and Cena this month. But for now, only the truth can do something about it.
Only he can come face to face with Cena and oppose his “childhood hero” to betray him. It sounds like stretching now, but so far Cena’s run has also been unorthodox.
