In WWE Backlash, broadcasters Pat McAfee and Gunther engaged in the fight for Chop, the latter victorious, leaving the former with a burning red chest. However, according to McAfee, his first post didn’t fully portray the true physical effects of “The Ring General’s” chops.
“I don’t think the angles there are much trust in the shoulders and arms,” McAfee said on “The Pat McAfee Show.” “I was stitching it up there and obviously wasn’t thinking about it. [shoulder]. If you want to zoom in a bit, you still have bruises. There are still a few things around the chest. I didn’t shave my breasts because I thought my hair could provide a little protection. I’m going to go shirtless against this guy, but maybe my hair will help me.
“I think Gunther knows he’s in the fight, and he respects him too,” he continued. “I think anyone who steps in there with him has a slightly different perspective on what it is.”
Before facing Gunther, McAfee messed around with the idea of layering a tank top over her chest to relieve the power of Gunther’s chops. Ultimately, he opposed it and instead took off his shirt at the start of their match as a way to show that he wasn’t afraid of them. Interestingly, Gunther’s chops were not the maker of this match’s difference, rather his sleeper was held.
