Nigel McGuinness returns to AEW’s double or empty ring.
McGuinness has been caught up in a feud with Daniel Garcia’s FTR in recent weeks, realizing that “Top Guy” will turn his heels and stand up to Garcia’s former allies. McGuinness and Dax Harwood were hit during a singles match against Garcia, leaving their positions to commentators and holding the match at hand for the contest.
During “Dynamite” this past week, he tried to apologise to Garcia for sacrificing a shot in vengeance, but before they could resolve the conflict, they met FTR’s new manager, Stokely Hathaway.
This task was then placed on McGuinness and Garcia, putting aside the differences in tag matches with FTR. During Saturday’s “AEW Collision,” the match became the official for upcoming double or Nothing Event. McGuinness reasoned that they realized they didn’t stop inducing him until they entered the ring with FTR, confirming that they would wrestled in their fourth match only from May 25, 2011.

McGuinness last wrestled as an opponent in Lee Moriarty’s Roh Pure Championship’s surprise open challenge in the final match in December, and returned to the ring completely as part of a casino gauntlet match at the beginning of the year. He wrestled Brian Danielson in “Aew Dynamite: Grand Slam” last year, marking his first traditional singles match since retiring more than 14 years ago.
