Dwayne “Rock” Johnson continues to choose a wide range of acting roles due to his busy schedule. He will then work with acclaimed studio A24 on a psychological thriller called “Breakthrough,” according to a new report from Deadline.

The new film project will reunite him on the A24 after working together previously on “The Smashing Machine,” a predicted MMA drama to be released later this year.

In “Breakthrough,” written by Zeke Goodman, Johnson assumes a prominent support part. He will play a highly attractive but manipulative motivational guru with a hidden, dark side and using morally questionable methods. Set in Southern California around the early 2000s, the story follows a young man falling into the powerful influence of this leading figure.

The A24 is also on board Johnson’s own Sevenbacks Productions to support the co-production. Rock was not seen on WWE TV when Cody Rhodes rejected his offer to be his world champion and led to John Cena’s heel turn.
