Prior to this Sunday’s double or nothing pay-per-view, an update has emerged regarding the status of injured AEW star Eddie Kingston.

More than a year ago, Eddie Kingston was torn apart by the ACL and Meniscus in his final standing match against Gabe Kidd on May 11, 2024 with the NJPW powerful revival.

Initially, early 2025 was expected to be his return time frame, but his reporting of “a much longer than expected” was not long in his recovery.

With the day going to aew double or Nothing the Nothing in 2025 on May 25, there has been a growing speculation among fans about Kingston’s imminent potential return.

However, a new update from Pwinsider’s Mike Johnson has released a direct statement from Kingston dismissing the idea.

Kingston told Pwin Cedar:

“I’m not there. I’ve started running in the ring. I’m still in physical therapy and I’m mentally better.

“Again, as people know, it’s a struggle, but once again you can be in the ring and exercise with PT and exercise with Cezar. [Bononi] Not to mention my body, it helps my mental health. Finally, you can feel the ball moving in the right direction. ”

In January, Cesar Bononi shared a workout video with Kingston. There, the Mad King continued to recover and had a new look.

As Kingston becomes available, we will provide further updates on Kingston’s returns and hope for him well in his recovery.
