Pro wrestling is full of couples working together in business. Just like everyone else, it’s not surprising to see how it’s a job. It certainly needs to help bring you and your partner on long nights on the road, but what makes wrestling couples working for various companies difficult? Buddy Matthews is in AEW, for example, but Rhea Ripley is one of the biggest stars. WWE. This was also the case for Malacay Black and Jellina Vega. The former was once part of the Black House, while the latter took place in WWE. This has recently been changed. Because Black left AEW and returned to WWE. Will he meet there and work with his wife, who has now been married for years?

The couple discovered they have a lot in common
- Aleister Black is from the Netherlands and was the first to wrestler as Tommy End.
- Zelina Vega is of Puerto Rican descent and has started managing Andrade on NXT.
- Both Black and Vega are obsessed with video games.
At first glance, Aleister Black and Zelina Vega don’t think they’ll become a couple. Black is originally from the Netherlands and is covered in head-to-toe tattoos, but Jellina Vega is Puerto Rican and not covered in ink. They grew up on each other halfway across the world, but worked as WWE wrestlers and brought them together. Vega signed with WWE in 2017, where he became manager of Andrade at NXT. Black, known as Tommy End, made his debut with NXT in the same year as Aleister Black.
During a 2018 Q&A on YouTube, Zelina was asked how she and Maracay hit it. She said:
“In the beginning, obviously it was physical attraction. I was like, ‘Wow, who is he, he’s hot.’ But it’s now that you’re as a person and how cool you were, how funny you were, and how sweet you were, and how much we all had in common with video games and nerd things. Aleister Black left WWE in 2021
- Black and Vega got married in 2018.
- Black was the leader of the Black Faction home at AEW.
- Vega and Black together built their dream house.
Black and Vega were initially quiet about their relationship, but ultimately released before they got married in 2018. Vega was still in WWE, but Black left in 2021 and quickly jumped the ship into AEW. He became one of their top stars as the leader of the Black Farm family, but his success meant that he and his wife spent much of their time apart.
In a few seconds of interviews, Vega revealed how difficult it is to work separately from her husband.
“It’s difficult, but it’s great that we both are in a business that we understand. It means we were both at work, you know in WWE. Well, he once. But that’s very important to us, so that when we get home, we don’t get a call. Only he, me, and a cat are there. We built the dream house that we had been trying to do for just three years. Wrestling couples were able to make it work
They were successful in their respective companies.
- Zelina Vega and Malakai Black own and operate a Dark Arts Wrestling School and a gym.
- Malakai Black is no longer an AEW.
- As Aleister Black, Triple H made him the NXT champion.
In the same interview, Zelina was asked if she would like to see Black one day in WWE. She said:
“Absolutely. Yeah, absolutely. It means I have a good extra time to spend with my husband.”
The couple found a way to stay close to each other despite working for a variety of companies. They own and run their own gym and wrestling school, known as Dark Arts, and their bond is so strong that last year Black surprised Zelina Vega and proposed to his wife again on Christmas Eve. Vega raved about it in a social media post.

Aleister Black has rejoined WWE this year
- Black returned to WWE on April 25, 2025 with an episode of SmackDown.
- Vega won the WWE Women’s US Championship that same night.
- They have not participated in the same wrestling promotion since 2021.
For months, rumors have spread about whether Black will be one day rather than returning to WWE. On April 25th, 2025, Black finally returned with Smackdown. He attacked Miz and rebutted with him and Carmelo Hayes last month. It was a tremendous moment for a black man, but he wasn’t the only member of his family who had a big moment in SmackDown that night.
In the same episode, Vega faced Chelsea Green for the WWE Women’s US Championship. She was able to successfully capture the title, and she became the only second person in history to hold it. It is also Vega’s first single title on WWE. It was a great night for both Black and Vega. Black and Vega meet again for the first time in years at the same company.
