Tony Kahn Explores the Exciting Potential of Toni Storm vs. Mercedes as the Ultimate Main Event Showdown

All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is aiming to feature its first-ever female main event on a pay-per-view, addressing fan concerns after Toni Storm, described as “timeless,” earned a spot in the “Hollywood Ending” match at Revolution in March. Following Mercedes Moné’s victory in the Owen Hart Foundation tournament, AEW CEO Tony Khan discussed the potential for a main event featuring Toni Storm versus Mercedes Moné at the upcoming All In event in Texas.

Khan stated, “It could be possible,” acknowledging that while Hangman and Moxley were already confirmed for the show, there are strong contenders for the main event slot, including the two Owen Hart Foundation winners and important World Championship matches. Fans had expected Marina Shafir and Willow Nightingale to be the first women to main event an AEW pay-per-view due to the match’s chaotic nature, but Bryan Danielson (referred to as Ospreay in the article) later revealed on AEW Dynamite that he and Adam Page would close the show.

The event is scheduled for July 12th at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, and currently, only two world title matches are announced for the card.

Fan Take: This development is exciting for AEW fans as it signals a serious commitment to elevating women’s wrestling within the promotion, potentially breaking new ground with a female main event. Such progress can inspire greater representation and growth in the sport, drawing more attention and respect to women wrestlers on a grand stage.
