Elayna Black, previously known as Cora Jade on NXT, was released from her WWE contract last month. In a recent interview with TMZ, Black shared that although layoffs in the wrestling world are common, she had a strong intuition that her time with WWE was coming to an end.

“I felt it two weeks before it happened,” Black revealed. She mentioned that she sensed her last major event with the company was approaching and planned to savor the moment.

This feeling stayed with her through her final match. “I think my last official match was against Soluluka at a live event. I just knew it was going to be my last time,” she said. “It took me a while to come to terms with it. I even signed an autograph because I’m a heel, but deep down I knew. It was like wrapping things up. That was definitely a week after the match.”

Since her release, Black has discussed her future plans, including the possibility of joining AEW.

Fan Take: This news is significant for WWE fans as it marks the end of a promising chapter for a rising star, while also highlighting the unpredictable nature of the wrestling business. Black’s potential move to AEW could shake up the competition and bring fresh storylines, making the sport even more exciting to follow.
