Brian Danielson Makes a Triumphant Return to AEW Ring Following Collision Taping

2 Min Read

Brian Danielson made a notable return to AEW’s in-ring action during last night’s AEW Collision taping in Kent, Washington on June 25. Although his last scheduled match is set for AEW Wrestledream in October 2024, many fans remain hopeful about the wrestling future of the former AEW World Champion, despite lingering doubts about whether “American Dragon” can fully compete again.

Last week in Mexico, Danielson’s physical involvement in the ROH x CMLL Earth War reignited hopes among fans about his possible comeback. This week, he reappeared in another non-televised segment in his hometown after AEW Collision’s event. Following the main event, as Kyle O’Reilly clashed with Kyle Fletcher, Paragon members began addressing the crowd at the Shoalaire Center until Max Caster interrupted. Caster issued his “Best Wrestler Alive Open Challenge,” which anyone could answer except for Brian Danielson in street clothes.

Before Danielson and Caster could face off, Adam Cole from Paragon superkicked Caster, allowing Danielson to quickly lock in a submission hold and win the match in seconds. Danielson celebrated with O’Reilly, Cole, and Roderick Strong, even playfully renaming himself “Kyle Danielson” as “The Final Countdown” played to conclude the show.

Despite this playful segment, Danielson’s full return to in-ring competition remains uncertain. The former WWE star has expressed that if avoiding neck surgery means not wrestling again, he’s okay with that outcome. AEW fans will be kept updated on Danielson’s health and the possibility of his comeback as new information emerges.
