WWE is set to host Evolution, the most significant all-women’s premium live event in its history, this July. A key highlight will be a Battle Royale, where the winner will earn a ticket to future premium live events. According to Bodyslam’s Cory Hays, the Battle Royale victor will get an opportunity to compete for a title at the Clash event in Paris this August.
Currently, only one match is confirmed for Evolution: the NXT Women’s Championship showdown between Jayne and Jordynne Grace. More matches are expected to be announced soon. Notably, the inaugural Evolution also included a Battle Royale, won by Nia Jax, which led to a Raw Women’s Championship match against Ronda Rousey at the TLC event in December.
At present, Tiffany Stratton holds the WWE Women’s Championship on SmackDown and is set to defend her title against Jade Cargill at SummerSlam. Meanwhile, Iyo Sky remains the WWE Women’s World Champion but is still awaiting her challenger. Both champions should remain alert, as Naomi—the winner of the Money in the Bank contract—is poised to potentially cash in on Stratton.
The Clash event in Paris is scheduled for August 31st, a few weeks after SummerSlam, making it a crucial stop on the WWE calendar.
Fan Take: This build-up to Evolution and the subsequent Clash event amps excitement for WWE’s women’s division like never before. It’s a crucial step in spotlighting female talent and shaping dynamic storylines that can elevate the entire sport on a global stage.
