WWE Star released while injured

The released WWE star revealed this weekend that he was dealing with injuries when he was let go of the company.

In total, 16 releases and one contract have not been renewed, including talent from both the main roster and NXT (Shotzi).

One of the talents of NXT released was former Chase U member Riley Osborne.

Osborne has been off NXT TV since Chase U’s breakup in November and has recently reappeared on the new WWE Evolve show.

These evolutionary matches were pre-taped, so he actually suffered injuries and had surgery a few months ago, but he had not yet returned medically at the time of his release.

On social media today, in his first comment since his release, Osborne (Josh Terry) posted an obviously sarcastic thumb-up selfie, writing:

“I can’t wait for it to be medically cleared at work… ahhhh.”

He also posted a follow-up.

“I had surgery on March 7th. I’ve had my actions since…pre-recording is magical.”

This is the second notable time for WWE to release the injured talent this year. This is because Karl Anderson was still recovering when he was released in February.

In another Osborne update, Dave Meltzer stated on Wrestling Observer Radio:

“His situation was one of those things that it had… non-resting things, but it wasn’t political and that wasn’t the right word.

“But he’s there. He’s good. He’s at least the person to see and take a chance. He didn’t actually show it (in WWE). I’ve always been impressed with him.

We continue to send all the talents released to us with our best wishes somehow, what they are trying to do next.
