With "AEW: Dynamite on 34th Street" approaching, All Elite Wrestling is searching for the ideal Santa to spread holiday joy among fans both in the arena and watching from home. For this special task, AEW enlisted Rizler as a judge for the recent Santa Screen Test auditions.
During the auditions, Rizler, a rising social media star, assessed performances from various AEW and ROH talents, such as Bandido, Brody King, former AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm, Mina Shirakawa, MxM Collection, unified champion Kazuchika Okada, and Max Caster. Surprisingly, Rizler’s friends Big Justice and Big Boom AJ also tried out for festive roles. However, it was Orange Cassidy’s laid-back style that caught Rizler’s attention the most.
“That’s awesome!” Rizler remarked while watching Cassidy effortlessly deliver Santa’s famous catchphrase. Dressed in a red hat, Cassidy asked Rizler what he wanted for Christmas, though his answer remains unknown.
Rizler and Cassidy first crossed paths earlier this year when Rizler dressed as the former AEW International Champion during the AEW Revolution pre-show, where Cassidy, AJ, and Mark Brisco defeated MxM Collection and Johnny TV in a trios match.
"Dynamite on 34th Street," broadcast from New York City, will air for U.S. fans on Christmas Eve evening, while the following episode of "Collision" is set for Christmas Day night. AEW’s Holiday Bash Special is scheduled for next week in Manchester, England.
Fan Take: This holiday-themed event not only brings festive fun but also showcases AEW’s creativity in blending wrestling with entertainment. For AEW fans, it’s an exciting opportunity to see their favorite stars in a new, playful light, which can help attract a broader audience to the sport.
