WWE WrestleMania 42 Countdown to Night 2 Pre-Show Results (4/19/26): Live Match Updates and Highlights
The countdown to WWE WrestleMania 42 Night 2 Pre-Show begins with a look at Las Vegas and Allegiant Stadium.
Oba Femi, Rhea Ripley, WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill, and WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk then arrive to get the WrestleMania 42 video package.
Joe Tessitore then welcomed us to the show and introduced Wade Barrett, Corey Graves, and Big E as co-hosts. They then discuss tonight’s card and Joe asks what he is looking forward to. Big E says he is looking forward to Obafemi. Corey then mentions the ladder match and Wade mentions the main event.
Next, we take a look back at the main event and the aftermath of last night’s WrestleMania 42 Night 1 event. Jackie Redmond has an update on Cody Rhodes. She said Cody has not been medically diagnosed. Then Jackie says she needed four staples in the back of her head. Then Jackie says she suffered an orbital injury.
Next, Byron Saxton talks about Brock Lesnar. Jackie Redmond then talks about what The Undertaker said about Oba Femi. Peter Rosenberg then talks about CM Punk and Kathy Kelly talks about Roman Reigns.
Michael Cole then interviews Roman Reigns. Roman says it feels different when he’s here because it’s a family business. Roman then says when to do this. Roman then says that he was born for this. Roman then says that it was God’s plan to put him and his family in this position. Cole then asks about Roman and WrestleMania. Roman says this is his legacy. Roman said he then told the twins that this was a family legacy. Roman said he was proud to have 11 main events.
He is then asked about 2012 with CM Punk and The Shield. Roman says there was nothing that drew him to punk. Roman then says that a higher power has added him to the group. Roman then said that Punk was cool to him and they traveled and trained with him. Roman then tells him not to bring up what’s going on with the boys in the office. Roman then says he was being played by CM Punk and takes his ball and goes home. Cole then asks if Roman was annoyed that Punk wasn’t here while you were on top. We are then told that we will hear more details later.
The panel then talks about the World Heavyweight Championship match between CM Punk and Roman Reigns.
The results from WrestleMania 42 Night 1 will then be shown, along with all the highlights that happened on the show.
Next, let’s look back at the first night. Joe asks what was memorable about the first night. Big E mentioned Seth and Gunther and Corey mentioned Paige’s return. Wade then mentioned IShowSpeed’s Frog Splash and Corey mentioned Bianca’s announcement. Joe then asks who won that night. Big E brings up Becky’s ego and Corey mentions the Bron Breaker. Wade then mentions Liv Morgan.
The panel then talks about this year’s WrestleMania debut.
Afterwards, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T interviews Trick Williams, Rush Legend, and Jevon Evans. Booker asks Jevon if this is overwhelming. Jevon says he’s nervous. Jevon then says that when he goes outside, he gets emotional. Booker then asks Trick if he is the next big superstar. Trick says he has experienced ups and downs. Trick then says that he has made a sacrifice. And Trick says it’s up to people to become the next big thing. Then Trick says he will gain confidence.
Booker then asks Rush about the first WrestleMania. Rush said she gives her all in everything she does, and that was proven when she stepped into the ring. After that, Rush says he felt confident in being called upon. Booker then asks Jevon about the ladder match and the record of that moment. Jevon said he has a goal in mind and wants to make history. Booker then asks Trick about facing Sami Zayn. Trick said four months ago they were in NXT and now they’re at WrestleMania. Trick then says that he doesn’t think Sami has a place for him. And Trick says he wins the title.
Next, let’s take a look at the video package of the US title match.
Peter Rosenberg then interviews Trick Williams and Lil Yachty. Peter asks Trick how he’s doing. Trick says he is on cloud nine and is the anointed one. Peter asks Yoti how he feels. Yachty says he’s lucky to be with Trick. Peter asks Trick about having Yachty with him. He said they were here to represent the culture and that he would be the new champion.
Next, Byron Saxton interviews Jade Cargill. Byron asks if Jade lived up to the hype. Jade said she is a two-time tag team champion, Queen of the Ring, and a champion. Byron then asks about the change in her attitude and the difference. Jade says it’s her. Jade says she tried to follow the rules but it didn’t work. Byron then asks Jade about confronting Rhea. Jade ignored the question and said her makeup was impressive. Jade said there was nothing else that impressed her about Rhea.
Byron then asks Jade about her comments and why people don’t see her as a leader in the locker room. Byron then asks about B-Fab and Michin. Jade says it’s a business and they’re allies. Then Jade says they want to take over. Byron then asks about IYO SKY supporting Rare. Jade says she is not worried about IYO. Byron then asks about her confidence. Jade says this isn’t her first rodeo. Then Jade says that she is undefeated. Jade then says that she beat the former champion.
Vic Joseph then interviews Joe Hendry. Vic asks Joe about his WrestleMania appearances last year and the year before. Joe said he signed with NXT and won the championship. Joe then says that would have happened if he had faced Randy Orton last night. Vic then asks about his match with Keanu Carver. Joe vows revenge. Vic asks what he will do next. Joe says he will show up if you say his name.
The panel then talks about the Oba Femi vs. Brock Lesnar match.
Michael Cole then talks about how people think WrestleMania 17 is one of the greatest events of all time and takes a look at the main event.
Next, we get a video package about the history of WrestleMania written and narrated by Mark Kriegel.
We then watch a video package of the Dominik Mysterio vs. Finn Balor match and the panel talks about the match.
Dominik Mysterio complains that he shouldn’t be wrestling the Demon, and Adam Pearce tells Dominik that it’s going to be a street fight.
Wade Barrett then leaves the panel to prepare to call the action for tonight’s show, and the panel talks about street fights.
Jackie Redmond then interviews Dominik Mysterio. She asks about the street fight. Dominic says that Pierce is giving Finn all the help he needs because Finn can’t beat him. Dominik then says he has a contract to fight Finn Balor. Dominic then says that Finn doesn’t know about his demons and that Finn will have to worry about his demons.
Tyrese Haliburton then joined the panel and got a video package about the history of ladder matches that took place at WrestleMania.
We then watch the WWE Intercontinental Championship Six-Pack Challenge Ladder Match in a video package and the panel talks about the match.
Kathy Kelly then interviews WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio. Cassie asks Ray how he feels. Rey says he’s in the ring with a new generation. Rei then says that she feels both excited and anxious. Ray then said this was a big moment because he missed last year’s show. Rey then says it’s too bad he got injured the night before WrestleMania. Ray said a year later that this was a special moment. Then Ray says that luck is on his side.
We then get a video package with several celebrities and stars talking about their best moments from WrestleMania.
Next, we take a look at last night’s COSM experience and how IShowSpeed hit Logan Paul with a frog splash across the table from several language perspectives. Michael Cole and Marcelo Rodriguez talk about the damage they did to the English commentary desk.
You then get a video package of the wrestlers that is sent through the table. Next, you’ll get a video package for the top 10 countdown of WrestleMania attendees.
Tyrese Haliburton then does an oba femi strut and enters Allegiant Stadium with Jackie Redmond and Peter Rosenberg, where they talk about some moments from WrestleMania 42 Night 1.
The panel will then discuss ESPN’s involvement in WWE, and tonight’s WrestleMania 42 Night 2 card will be shown.
Joe Tessitore then interviews WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque. Joe asks about the last year with John Cena and what meant the most to him. Triple H said John was happy and able to contribute to the business. Triple H told John to go his own way. Joe then talks about how John wanted to pay it forward and the new talent at this year’s WrestleMania. Triple H has stated that this is what the Performance Center was established for. Triple H then talked about being in the ring with Brock and Oba and explained how it felt. Triple H has since stated that Oba’s credibility and aura made his interactions with Brock more meaningful.
Joe then asks about Jade and Leah. According to Triple H, Jade is like a comic book character come to life. Triple H then stated that there was a lot of pressure to back everything up. Triple H told Rhea that as soon as the music plays, whatever she does will be fine. Joe then asks about Roman and Punk. According to Triple H, there was a tremendous level of tension and he was worried that he would look unprofessional. Triple H then says this is real and people can’t tell how much they fuck you between the two of them. Triple H then says he’s not trying to get a reaction out of the crowd, but rather he’s talking directly to his opponent.
We then watch the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match on a video package and a panel talks about the match.
The panel then talks about the WWE Women’s Championship match between Jade Cargill and Rhea Ripley.
The arrival of several Superstars is then confirmed and a WrestleMania video package is delivered, narrated by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
