The first episode since WWE Smackdown tonight on April 25th, WrestleMania 41, played the host of the title change.
For the past few weeks, sustained challengers have emerged for women’s American champion Chelsea Green.
That challenger was Jellina Vega, who defeated Green in a non-title title in the past two weeks, counting out (it was reportedly a mistake as Green was counted by chance), and once matched by pinfall.
Tonight, Vega finally managed to win the title shot against Green.
This has made Vega Green’s first champion in the main event on a Saturday night in December.
The victory also came in second overall in VEGA’s first single championship victory at WWE.
She was previously WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion alongside Carmella in 2021.
Wrestlemania played the host of the title change this past Monday as Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship for Becky Lynch and Lyra Valkyria, and Lynch turned Valkyria on.
