Texas buyouts surpass early projections, exceeding initial estimates

A recent report revealed an updated pay-per-view buy rate for AEW’s Texas events starting July 12th, showing numbers even higher than initially estimated. According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer newsletter, the event garnered between 180,000 and 185,000 purchases, surpassing the previously reported 175,000 as of July 18th. These revised figures suggest the Texas event could rank as the third-best selling pay-per-view in AEW history.

AEW’s top-selling pay-per-views include the 2021 event with about 215,000 purchases, the 2023 Wembley Stadium event estimated at 200,000, and AEW Revolution 2024 with approximately 180,000. Depending on final numbers, the Texas show will tie with Revolution 2024 for third place overall.

The All In: Texas BuyRate was a major triumph for AEW in 2025 and demonstrated significant growth compared to other premium events this year. For context, the Double or Nothing pay-per-view in May saw about 125,000 buys, while the March Revolution pay-per-view reached roughly 135,000 buys. Additionally, it was reported that AEW brought in $725,000 in merchandise sales, the highest figure recorded for a non-WWE wrestling event in the US or Canada.

This financial success is largely attributed to a strong card where “Hangman” Adam Page captured the AEW World Championship. AEW plans to leverage this momentum with its next big pay-per-view, the annual AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door Crossover event. More detailed information about AEW’s business performance is available in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Fan Take: This breakthrough buy rate highlights AEW’s growing influence and ability to compete on a major scale outside WWE. For fans, it signals an exciting era of expanding opportunities, storytelling, and premium events that could reshape the future landscape of professional wrestling.
