WWE RAW Results (5/4/26): Live Match Updates and Highlights
The show opens with Michael Cole and Corey Graves, and features appearances by Oba Femi, El Grande Americano, The Creed Brothers, Sol Luca, Penta, and Jevon Evans.
We then see Roman Reigns enter the arena in a black SUV. Adam Pearce then walked up to him to discuss the contract, and Reigns appeared to be heading to the ring. Adam Pearce then informs Roman Reigns that Jacob Fatu is not here yet. Seth Rollins is then seen standing behind Roman Reigns. Seth Rollins says Reigns is in his way and gets down in the ring.
The Bron Breaker then ambushes Seth Rollins on the ramp. Breaker attacks Rollins. Breaker then hoisted Rollins up and threw him over the barricade. Security then comes in to separate them. Breaker then wipes out security. Adam Pearce is also in it. Breaker then returns to the ring and hits Seth Rollins with a devastating spear.
Then Michael Cole brings up “Judgment Day” and we find out what Finn Balor said to Roxanne Perez in private.
Afterwards, head to the Judgment Day clubhouse. Liv Morgan said Stephanie Vaquel was injured and there was no need to worry about her anymore. Liv Morgan then asks Roxanne Perez about Finn Balor sneaking into the locker room last week. Liv Morgan then says she’s worried about Roxanne Perez. Roxanne then says she didn’t mention it because she told Barrer to leave the clubhouse and never come back. Roxanne then says she should have said something. Roxanne then says that she will be faithful on Judgment Day. Morgan then says he believes Perez. Morgan then says that she wants Perez and Raquel to become the next WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. Morgan then says that he doesn’t want Perez to keep his secret from his family.
Finn Balor then made his way down to the ring for the first match of the night, followed by JD McDonough with “The Judgment Day”.
Single match: Finn Balor vs. JD McDonagh from Judgment Day
The match begins with a lockup between both men. Baylor then applies a side headlock on McDonough. Balor then hits an arm drag. Dominik Mysterio then hits a cheap shot on Baylor and McDonough takes control. Balor then counterattacked with a series of chops. Baler then hits a side Russian leg sweep for a nearfall. McDonagh then hits a leg drop on the back of Baylor’s neck for a two count. McDonough then goes for Baylor’s left knee. Baylor then hits a dropkick into the basement. Baylor then sends McDonagh flying over the top rope. Mysterio gets involved again. McDonough then sends Baylor to the floor and here comes Roxanne Perez.
Balor then barely beat the count. McDonough then attacked Baylor, forcing him into a near fall. McDonagh then follows with a side headlock. Baylor then hits McDonagh with a powerful chop. McDonough then hits an Irish whip. McDonagh then hits a back body drop for a nearfall. Mysterio also took a cheap shot behind the referee’s back. McDonagh then follows with a side headlock. Balor is currently trying to fight back, and Morgan and Rodriguez are also out. Baylor then hits a right fielder and follows up with a big back body drop. Balor then hits a Slingblade. Dominik then goes up to the apron, but Burler knocks him off the apron.
McDonagh then hits a Spanish fly for a near fall. Balor then hits a shoulder to the gut. Balor then hits a kick. Balor then goes to the top rope, but Dominik trips him up again. Later, Jessica Carr catches Dominic red-handed and tells Judgment Day to leave. McDonough then flies off the top rope, but Balor gets a knee. Balor then attacks another Slingblade. Morgan is on the apron and Baylor hits a basement dropkick on McDonagh. Perez then hit Balor with a hammer, giving McDonough the victory.

Jackie Redmond is then seen in the backstage area. She’s with Seth Rollins. Redmond asks Rollins if he’s okay with Backlash coming up. Rollins says it’s okay. And Rollins said she told the boy last week that if he was going to have a chance, he’d better get the job done. Then Rollins says he’s not dead yet. Rollins then walks away.
Next, let’s take a look at Byron Saxton Los Americanos. Saxton asks about El Grande Americano’s mask match and tonight’s match. Rayo then talks about the new Americans. Then Bravo says he can’t say anything good about them. Then Grande says she didn’t understand what you signed up for. And they say you can’t do anything in Mexico, but you can do anything in America.
We were then told that there would be a two-hour countdown show for WWE Backlash, and that the first hour would be broadcast on ESPN2.
We then have a video package with Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu, and Michael Cole talks about Tonga’s Death Grip.
Bron Breaker is then seen in the locker room with Austin Theory and Logan Paul and they joke about Seth Rollins. Paul Heyman showed up and asked if Rollins was still breathing. Logan then says that Joe Hendry wasn’t breathing when he was done. After that, he says he will be hospitalized. Heyman then says that’s why Logan won’t fight Joe and that Bron almost got suspended. Heyman then says Brock retired against him. Heyman then tells Joe that if he does whatever he wants, he will be arrested. Heyman then says Joe will face Austin Theory tonight.
Penta and Jevon Evans then go down to the ring for the next match of the night, followed by Rusev and Ethan Page.
Tag match: WWE Intercontinental Champion Penta & “Young OG” Jevon Evans vs. “Bulgarian Lion” Rusev & “Ol Ego” Ethan Page
The match starts with Rusev and Jevon Evans, Rusev drives Evans into the corner and hits Evans with a few shoulders in the midsection. Rusev then hits a boot. Evans then tries to fight back, but Rusev takes him down. Then Ethan Page appears. Evans hits Page with chops. Evans then hits Rusev with a series of forearms. Evans then hits a snap suplex on Page. Evans then hits a dropkick on Page. Penta becomes the legal man and the babyface hits a superkick on Rusev. Evans then hits a hurricanrana on Rusev. Page goes for a Twisted Grin, but Penta counters with a Penta Driver for a near fall.
Paige regains control and Rusev continues the beatdown on Penta. He now applies a side headlock on Penta. Penta then tries to fight back with a flurry of chops and forearms, but Rusev hits an Irish whip. Page then joins the fray and takes punches at Penta. Rusev then hits an uppercut on Penta. Rusev then hits a few splashes on Penta in the corner. Penta then knocks Rusev off the apron. Rusev then dragged Evans off the apron and blocked a tag to Penta. Page then blasts Penta from behind. Then he punches Penta. Rusev tries to take Evans out but accidentally crashes into the steel cage.
Evans comes in and hits a clothesline on Page and follows up with a Stunner. Evans then hits a German suplex on Page. Evans then flies through the air and wipes out Rusev. Back in the ring, Evans hits Page with a flying clothesline for a near fall. Evans then heads to the top rope and launches himself, but Page moves out of the way. Then he hits a kick. Penta then hits a tornado DDT on Page. Rusev then breaks the fall. Evans then turns his attention to Rusev and sends him over the top rope. He then landed a suicide dive, dropping Rusev onto the announce desk. Evans then goes to the top rope, but Page knocks him off the top rope.
The battle then spills outward. Rusev then puts Penta on the announce table behind the referee. Back in the ring, Page hits a Fisherman’s Suplex on Penta for the win.

Sol Luca is then seen walking through the backstage area. meanwhile. Austin Theory is seen talking to a mysterious female star.
Next up are Byron Saxton, JD McDonough, and Dominik Mysterio. McDonagh then stopped Byron and said he was tired of the leadership talk between him and Finn Balor. And McDonough said the best thing Baylor ever did was introduce Dominique and the rest of Judgment Day to Baylor. Then McDonagh says he doesn’t need Finn Balor. McDonagh then says they’re going to kick out the deadwood and take over WWE. Byron then asks about Roxanne and if the group is united. Dominique says McDonough beat Baylor tonight. Dominic then says that he is still the AAA Mega Champion. Then Dominic says that Liv is the women’s world champion. Dominic then says that Roxanne Perez helped McDonough tonight. Dominique then says that Roxanne and Raquel will become the new women’s tag team champions.
We then see RAW General Manager Adam Pearce standing in the ring. WWE then airs a video package featuring Sol Luka. Pearce then introduces Sol Luka to the WWE Universe. Pierce then congratulated Luca and handed him the contract. The WWE Universe then erupts into chants of “You deserve it.” Luca said it felt great to be able to perform at the flagship show. Becky Lynch then blocked Luka from signing the contract. Lynch said she had been looking for Adam Pearce all day. Afterward, Ms. Lynch said she was told that this was the time she was given to celebrate her greatness.
Lynch then took issue with the RAW General Manager naming her for an impromptu match against IYO SKY last week. Luka asks Lynch if he’s done yet. Luka then says it’s not all about Becky Lynch. Luka then calls Lynch a rude and stupid bastard. Lynch then asks Pierce if he is going to let Sol Luca talk like this. Luka then signs a RAW contract. Luka says that if Lynch ever gets in her way again, he will take her soul. Later, Lynch accidentally touches Adam Pearce. Luka then hits Lynch with Sol Snatcher.
Next, let’s take a look at what happened on SmackDown with Jacob Fatu. Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso then walked up from behind and Jackie Redmond stopped them and asked about closing the deal. Jimmy says it’s a big night and he can’t miss it for nothing. Jimmy says he loves Jacob but needs to know how Roman does business with the title on the line. Jackie then asks if there is any conflict. Jay says this is a family business. Then Jay says Roman knows how to handle himself. Jay says he’s here to make sure nothing happens to Jacob and Roman. He then tells Jacob that he is in the deep end and tells him to understand who he is dealing with. The Usos then enter Roman Reigns’ locker room.
Joe Hendry then descends into the ring for the next match of the night. Hendry wants to hold a concert before the game, and Hendry says he played a song about Logan Paul last week. Hendry then says he feels sorry for Logan Paul. Hendry then says he wants to do an apology concert for Logan Paul. Hendry then asks the WWE Universe to sing along. Hendry then talks about saving the world. Then Hendry says, “Can I fire Logan Paul?” Hendry then calls Logan Paul trash. Hendry then says Logan Paul can shove his trading cards right up his a**.
Logan Paul then goes down to the ring with Austin Theory and tells him he’s a dud. Logan then calls himself the business and the heart and soul of WWE. Austin Theory then enters the ring, but Joe Hendry sends Austin Theory over the top rope.
Single match: Joe Hendry vs. Vision’s WWE World Tag Team Champions Austin Theory
The match begins with Logan Paul on the apron, allowing Austin Theory to gain early control. Theory then hits a backbreaker on Hendry. Hendry then tries to counterattack with a series of chops. Theory then sends Hendry into the corner with authority. Theory then slams Hendry away. Theory then hits a snap suplex on Hendry. Theory then asks for another medicine, but Hendry gives Theory a taste of his own medicine. Hendry then hits a clothesline on Theory.
Hendry then catches Theory in the air and hits him with a fallaway slam. Logan then attacked Hendry from behind, forcing the referee to call for the bell.

After the match, Joe Hendry attempts to fight back, but the fighting numbers catch up to him. Vision then launches a two-on-one attack against Joe Hendry until the Street Profits come to his aid. Bron Breaker then joins the fray and wipes out the Street Profits. He then hits a German suplex. Seth Rollins then drags the Bron Breaker out of the ring and sends him into the steel steps. Back in the ring, Seth Rollins pounds on the breaker. He then knocked Logan Paul and Austin Theory off the apron. Montez Ford then takes them all down. Breaker then hits Rollins with another Spear.
It was then announced that Bron Breaker vs. Seth Rollins would take place in the first hour of Backlash.
Then we see Jackie Redmond backstage. She is participating in Judgment Day. Liv Morgan said the focus on Judgment Day is to get all the money. Raquel Rodriguez then warns Paige and Brie Bella. And she asked them to come to her show. Bailey and Lyra Valkyrie then walk up to them. The two teams then get into an argument. Liv Morgan called them losers and walked away.
Next, we’ll take a look at what happened on SmackDown between Sami Zayn and Trick Williams, which was also announced to take place during the first hour of WWE Backlash.
Oba Femi then descends into the ring for his next match that night. Then Oba Femi grabs the microphone and says the time has come. Then Femi says that Obafemi’s open challenge is about to begin. Alpha Academy then escapes as Otis answers Oba Femi’s open challenge.
Single match: “The Ruler” Oba Femi vs. Otis of Alpha Academy
The match begins with both men locking up and both men getting hit with several shoulder tackles. Femi then hits an uppercut on Otis. Femi then throws Otis across the ring. Femi then plants Otis on the second rope. Femi then attacked Otis at Fall from Grace and was victorious.
The single match winner is “The Ruler” Oba Femi!
They then find Seth Rollins in the backstage area and he encounters the Street Profits. Rollins then gets into an argument with the Street Profits and Joe Hendry shows up. Then Seth Rollins says they’re in the same fight. Rollins then told The Street Profits to stay out of the way.
Roman Reigns and Adam Pearce are then seen reviewing their contracts and Jacob Fatu arrives at the arena.
Ethan Page then heads to the interview area. Page complains about the crowd’s reaction. Afterward, Page said he wore a celebratory suit to get a standing ovation. Paige then says she has the right to do that since she pinned the current champion. Paige then says that she is undefeated on RAW. Page then says he pinned Penta’s friend Jevon Evans. Then Page says he forced the title photo on her. Paige then immediately said she would retain the championship. Paige then says that’s a sign of excellence in WWE. And Page says this is a springboard for everyone at this company to go straight to the top.
Next, let’s take a look at IYO SKY and Asuka’s meeting. IYO tells Asuka that she has been avoiding this fight for years because that’s who she is. Then IYO says that he is his senior and mentor. Then IYO says that he admired Asuka. Then IYO says that he liked Asuka. IYO then said that he truly respects Asuka despite what she has done to him. Then IYO said he didn’t want this fight and didn’t want this to happen. Then IYO says that Asuka has changed.
Asuka. After that, they say nothing has changed. IYO then said that he had to fight Asuka. Asuka then said that IYO continues to be disrespectful. Asuka then says that the IYO she taught her is not in front of her. Then Asuka says, “Who are you?” Asuka then says that this IYO was the most disappointing. Asuka then said that she was done with IYO at Backlash and that she was cutting her out of her life forever. IYO then said that he was ready to accept Asuka. Asuka then spits a blue mist at IYO’s face.
Michael Cole then asks Corey Graves what’s going on in AAA. Next, we see Jackie Redmond and the Original El Grande Americano and friends. Redmond asks what happened during the contract signing and tonight’s game. The original El Grande Americano states that the no-contact rule only applies in Mexico, so all bets are void. Original El Grande Americano has since said that his friends decided to help Chad Gable because they learned from him. The original El Grande Americano said you’ll see there’s only one El Grande Americano, and we’re looking for him.
The original El Grande Americano, Julio, and Bruno then make their way down to the ring for the main event of the night, followed by Los Americano.
6-man tag match: Original El Grande Americano, Julio Americano, Bruto Americano vs. The Americans (El Grande Americano, Rayo Americano, Bravo Americano)
The match begins with all six men brawling, causing chaos in the ring. Brute and Bravo then lock up. Julio gets legal and hits a back body drop. Rayo then challenges Julio to a fight. Julio then suplexes Rayo and goes to the ropes. He then hits a German suplex. And the original El Grande Americano hits the hip toss. El Grande Americano then makes a collar and elbow tie-in with the original El Grande Americano. El Grande Americano then sends the original El Grande Americano to the announcement desk. Then the original El Grande Americano hits a big chop on Rayo. Julio is now a legal man and throws Rayo and Bravo across the ring.
Julio then sends himself into the ring post. El Grande Americano slips through his opponent and hits a dropkick for a near fall. Julio then hits a big back body drop and lands an El Grande Americano. Rayo and Bravo then join the fray and continue their beatdown against Julio. Bravo and Julio trade chops and both are down. The original El Grande Americano and El Grande Americano now have legal roles. And the original El Grande Americano hits an angle slam. Then the original El Grande Americano hits a German suplex on Bravo and Rayo. He then hit El Grande Americano with a shell. Julio then hits a superplex on Rajo. Brute then hits a moonsault.
Bravo then hits a splash on the Original El Grande Americano for a nearfall. The battle then spills outward. Back in the ring, Original El Grande Americano hits a German suplex and bravos. He then went to the top rope and hit a flying headbutt for the win.
The winners of the 6-man tag team match are Original El Grande Americano, Julio Americano, and Bruto Americano!
Michael Cole then announced that John Cena would be returning to Backlash in Tampa.
Roman Reigns’ music then hits and he makes his way down to the ring. Adam Pearce is also participating in contract singing and will introduce Jacob Fatu. Adam Pearce then tells them to make the match official. Mr. Raines then asked Omaha, Nebraska, to recognize him, and they did. Reigns then asks Fatu if he heard the WWE Universe. Raines said he had been here for more than 12 years while Fatu was working tirelessly on the independents. Reigns then says he was the one who opened the door for Solo Sicore and that’s why he brought Fatu to WWE. Reigns then asks Fatu to show some respect.
Reigns then talks about Fatu using the Tonga Death Grip. Rains then says that Fatu shouldn’t have done that to the tribe leader. Fatu says Reigns was wrong about everything. Fatu said he feels the same way about the world and is in despair. Afterwards, Fatu says he had no choice but to take the World Heavyweight Championship from Reigns. And Fatu said he vowed to squeeze every penny out of Bloodline, just like he has done with this company. Fatu then said he was desperate enough to do anything for his family. Raines then signed a contract and said he was caring for multiple households.
Reigns then says this is his ring and calls Bloodline his equal. Fatu then says Reigns is under him and Fatu applies the Tonga Death Grip, but Reigns fights out of it. Reigns then punches Fatu. Reigns then goes for a Superman Punch, but Fatu counters with a Tongan Death Grip. Adam Pearce then tries to get involved, but Fatu puts Reigns on the table. Fatu then signs a contract that makes the main event of Backlash official. The Samoan Werewolf then stands up, the WWE Universe erupts in chants of “Fatu” and the show ends.
