Jack Perry Faces Injury Scare During AEW Continental Classic Showdown

2 Min Read

During the 2025 Winter Is Coming episode of AEW Dynamite, former AEW TNT Champion “Jungle” Jack Perry made his debut in the Continental Classic, facing off against his ex-ally from The Elite, Kazuchika Okada. Perry stepped in for Darby Allin, who was sidelined with a head injury on Thanksgiving Eve. However, there were concerns Perry himself might have suffered a serious injury during the match. According to Brian Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio, Perry injured his ankle on a dive and feared it might be broken. After getting it checked, he felt better and appears to be okay. During the match, Okada’s dropkick caused Perry to fall awkwardly off the floor, landing on a cameraman, but Perry was able to finish the match and participate in the post-match segment, suggesting he’ll continue in the tournament.

Currently, Perry sits at the bottom of the Gold League with zero points after two matches, inheriting Darby Allin’s points when he replaced him. Perry has three matches left against ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey, PAC, and Kyle Fletcher, and with nine points still available, he has a solid chance to advance to the Final Four at the World’s End event on December 27th.

Fan Take: This injury scare adds an element of real risk and drama to AEW’s Continental Classic, showing Perry’s resilience and determination. It also keeps fans invested in the tournament standings, as his comeback potential could shake up the competition and heighten excitement going into the event.
