During the week when All Elite Wrestling makes its big entrance in Arlington, Texas, on July 12th, the Starcast Convention will also return, giving fans the chance to meet both familiar convention regulars and some wrestling personalities who have been out of the spotlight for nearly two decades. Starrcast announced on its official X platform that Monty Brown, known as “The Alpha Male” from his time in WWE and TNA, will be making a rare wrestling appearance at the event. According to Fightful Select, securing Brown’s participation has been a long-term effort by Starcast and Paragon talent Steve Kay, with significant progress made recently and his involvement officially confirmed at the end of May.

Brown, who resides in Saginaw, Michigan, has made several appearances at WWE, TNA, and AEW events over the years, reconnecting with wrestling friends like former WWE star Kevin Thorne, AEW’s Lance Archer, and former and current TNA talents such as Rohit Raju and Jake Something. Originally a football player, Brown transitioned to wrestling in the 2000s and gained fame in both TNA and WWE before quietly retiring in 2007 after the tragic loss of his sister, choosing to focus on his family rather than returning to wrestling.

Fan Take: This news is exciting for AEW fans as it brings a beloved wrestling figure back into the fold, adding star power and nostalgia to the event. Monty Brown’s appearance could inspire renewed interest in veteran talent making special returns, which helps enrich AEW’s storytelling and connection with long-time wrestling fans.
